Collection of papers on the Mullan Military Road, circa 1967.

ArchivalResource

Collection of papers on the Mullan Military Road, circa 1967.

This collection consists of a hand-written and typescript notes about the above contents. It appears that someone, maybe J.F. Cone, was doing research on the history of the Mullan Military Road, which ran across Montana, and the Northwest. The hint of the creator of this collection is a notation on one folder "J.F. Cone." The date for the collection is taken from a caption of one of the papers that states: "Route of the Mullen Road from records of the BLM, Billings (Monday, 11 Sept. 1967)." This is a copy of the map that was used in researching the Mullen Road. It is associated with an article entitled "Mullan Road Stretches for 624 miles" by Dr. Kingston. The article ran in the Spokesman-Review on 1 July 1951. It is housed separately.
